Installing 19 Push Piers in Mission Viejo

Customer: Richard F.

Location: Mission Viejo, CA

Project Consultant: Phil Laney

Project Foreman: Dimitri Pierce

Why did the customer contact Dalinghaus Construction?

Richard had reached out to us by filling out a “Contact Us” form on our website. He let us know that he was looking for prices, and getting quotes from multiple foundation repair companies. Richard said he had concerns with his slab foundation, and wanted to get an inspection lined up as soon as possible.

What solutions did Dalinghaus Construction provide?

We sent Project Consultant, Phil Laney to Richard’s home for an inspection of his 1,100 square foot, Mission Viejo home. Phil used his Ziplevel Altimeter to perform an elevation survey. His inspection did reveal that Richard’s foundation would need some work. The worst affected area was down 2.4”. The plan was to install 19 Push Piers, 350 square feet of Polyurethane Void Fill, and 13 areas of Concrete Removal and Replacement. Richard decided to move forward, and have Dalinghaus complete the repair of his foundation.

Project Manager, Dimitri Pierce, and his crew were able to finish this project in 8 days. They began my saw cutting the concrete away in the 13 locations. Then the crew excavated 3’ x 3 holes at each of the 19 pier locations. Then the footings were cleaned, prepped, and the push pier brackets were mounted to the footing. The Push Piers were then installed till they hit load bearing strata, which had an average depth of about 27’! Once all the piers were installed, the pipe was cut and capped. The home was then lifted to maximum practical recovery. Once the City Inspector signed off on the permit, the previously excavated soils were backfilled into the pier locations, and tamped down. Then the crew replaced the concrete at the 13 locations that were previously removed.
