A helical anchor/pile is an extendable deep foundation system with helical bearing plates welded to a central steel shaft. The load is transferred from the shaft to the soil through these bearing plates. Due to their design and easy to install, they are most commonly used whenever soil conditions prevent standard foundation solutions. Helical anchors are easily installed by hand-held equipment, mini-excavators, skid steers, backhoes, track hoes, or crane-supported rigs to accommodate just about any application they are being installed to, in order to stabilize the foundation and retaining walls with unbalanced earth pressures. Helical anchors are extremely versatile and economical solutions for a wide range of commercial projects and they also provide the convenience to immediately load and test anchors.
